Common Gables

Post by Wally Schneeberger »

I have a 72" tall cabinet that I would like to use on each side of some shelves. Is there a way to have system holes on the outside of one of the cabinet gables? TIA.

In case anyone runs across this problem here is a solution. Thanks to Rob @ Calmark Cabinets we figured out how to do this. The answer is to make it all one cabinet and to use Partitions as common Gables. . Here is a pic of the cabinet which is one cabinet with another used as a shoe shelf added. I used a DNC shelf to add the system holes.

Great thinking, Wally!

What kind of pins are you using for your shoe shelves, and what feature is machined into the underside of the shelf parts to mate with the pins?

Is the setup that RTA deal you asked about in another post?

Yes Gene it is an RTA connector on the back and sits on a shelf support on the front. The holes are 2.5" apart so one hole difference makes a nice tilt. You could use any connector you want ... I just had some of the 2 hole Hettich leftover.
