Computer freezing up in door editor

Post by Don Nichelson »

My computer keeps freezing up when I select a door or drawer from Contestoga and setting that as my default. I have Vista and did install as suggested on this website. This is a new problem and didn't notice this before. Also I cannot highlight rails in the faceframe editor. Can someone tell me what is going on?

Don, is your graphics card up to snuff?

That I am not sure of. If you tell me what I need I will get it. Thanks. I was thinking I got lucky with the Vista problems because I ran into no problems at all but just recently this started happening and I am not sure why.

Don
The graphics card is a good place to start looking but since this is a Vista machine, I can't say that updating the graphics card will fix it for sure. To check your graphics card you need to right click on your desktop > personalize > display settings > Advanced settings. This will tell you what kind it is and how much memory. Please let us know.

i will look up the graphics card in a minute but I was just thinking about uninstalling vista and switch to XP. This is a laptop and I was told I could not upgrade the graphics card so if you recommend this I will do it.

What are the specs on the laptop Don? If it isn't pretty potent you will never get very satisfactory performance out of eCabinets on it.

Here is a link to Thermwood's recommended systems for eCabinets.

Stray very far from these specs and performance will not be very good at all.
