Installing Vista question

Post by Don Nichelson »

I was installing eCabinets on my laptop which unfortunately runs Vista and have a question. I read the article on installing Vista and that is what my question is about. I put the CD in the drive, cancelled the download, went to Windows Explorer in Accessories. My documents popped up so I went to the Computer folder and selected eCabinets on my E drive (device with removable storage). From there I right clicked on Explore and looked for the file setup.exe which was not there. So, I right clicked on setup and looked in that for Run1.exe or Run2.exe but could not find it. So what I did was just selected run as administrator from that file and then right clicked on the shortcut icon and selected XP service pack 2 and run as administrator.

My question is this the correct thing to do? Since I could not find Run1.exe or Run2.exe will the program still work or do I need to do something else?

What version is the CD you are using? Here is what I see on my version 5 CD:

OK now I am starting to get upset. I did everything as instructed and when I do click on the shortcut icon it comes up and tells me that this versionof ecabinets is expired and to contact tech services. Left a message this morning and did not get a reply. If anyone can help me out please feel free to call me at 209-595-7252 Thank you

Now you must download and install the latest patch, Version 5.1 Build 5. The link is available in one of the Announcements.

Make sure you right-click the update and "Run as Administrator" after you've downloaded it.
