Job Won't Nest

Post by Rob Perry »

I have a Job I was about to get ready for production & when I went to run a nest It would NOT Nest.
If I go to The Cutlist to get a sheet goods count it shows Negative 1274808382 Sheets.
I do not use a router.
I attemted to attach the file 7.5 MB But at this time it would not upload.
Has anyone ran into this before
Also on this file it keeps automatacly hiding all Display objects. If I go to Show/Hide & Uncheck it & Go back to Room View it will change back if I try to save the file

I (and others) have run into similar siruations Rob. Try creating a batch with the cabinets that you have in the room and see if that will nest properly. If it doesn't, try nesting the cabinets one at a time until you find the one that is causing the issue then post it here so someone can look at it.

Yes that is very strange. I ended up deleting the cabinet from the Job & Building a new one. Everything is fine now.
Before I deleted it. I kept Highlighing cabinets & Checking Cutlist until I came across this one & It showed Negative over a billion sheets.
Once the cabinet was deleted the Job Nested fine.
Thanks a millon for helping me find the problem so quickly Dan. Much appreciated.
I wonder why when you open the cabinet it appears fine but it totaly screwed up the job file.. :?

My guess, and its just that--a guess, is that it had something to do with the materials. When I opened the job I had to add those three materials as I did not have them defined. Whatever caused the problem disappeared with the addition of the materials.

Why does your rebuilt version not have the same issue? Good question! I think something happens when changing the materials a cabinet is made from sometimes and all of the information is not saved in the HSF file. That too, is just a guess.
