Sorting cutlist in Excel

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change a columns contents in Excel. All I want is the cabinet number not this ('(Cabinet No.1) starter/ 35Lumg-MOD1 108"H X 32 3/4"W X 24"D (Base)). Does this make sense?

Select the first column where the info starts. Then select Data, text to columns, then follow instructions. Excel will automatically set up breaks in the info essentially dividing the info into new columns. You can then double click on the lines to remove or add new columns. Once this is done you can delete columns you don't want. When I do this I end up with two columns, one that i don't want and one with the info I want to keep. You can set the columns up however you wish. just one more thing, sometimes when expanding cells to expose more info the rows go wonky. To fix this you have to select all the rows, select format, cells, align to top, then format, row, height and change height to 15.

Once you have perfected this save this as a macro and you can run the macro and it will sort through the spread sheets automatically.
