Position on floor

Post by Rick Palechuk »

What are your thoughts on this, These two cabs are snapped to the walls and the position on floor shows in 16ths and 32nds. The walls are the only fractional number in the layout, so shouldn't 1/2 inch be the only fraction.

Rick,
The left hand wall has an angle of 89.983. I think that is what is throwing it off. Now depending on which corner you started drawing your wall from, you should be able to goto the "Wall Angle" field in the left hand panel and change this to 90. Although when I made the change, the dimensions between the cabinets went from 74-1/2" to 74-9/16".

But changing the wall angle will fix your problem.

Thanks for the heads up on that Todd. I thought I had ortho on when I drew that.
On my other post, what's your take on the floor being larger than the wall?

Rick,
I am unsure of what you mean by that. What dimensions are you refering to?

Well, if you look at my other post you will notice that the floor is larger than the walls. I have the understanding that the floor should extend to the outside perimeter of the walls.

Rick,
Do you mean the first post on this thread or another post on the forum? Because if I take your layout pic and remove one of the walls, the floor dimensions are taken from the inside of the wall. Does this answer you question?
