Floor size bug

Post by Rick Palechuk »

I think I found a bug in the way the floor sizes in relation to the walls. If you draw two walls at right angles, and at least one is less than 56" then the floor extends past the wall. This makes the Position On Floor dimensions inaccurate. Can someone try this before I send it to feedback. Thanks.

Rick,
Could you send me an example of what you are talking about. From my understanding the dimensions are alaways taken (shown) from the interior portion of the wall. If you could send me an example supporting the bug, we can take a look at it and send it to our programmers. Thank!

Hi Todd, as per the video tutorials - Custom Layout-Overhead/Main View> Position on floor. The narrator states: "The floor area is a rectangular area created by the walls and includes the thickness of the walls." So if the walls are not the same as the floor, the position on floor values would be incorrect. If you render the test file you will see that the floor extends past the wall. Now Esc and hilite the cab and you will notice the POF dimensions are incorrect.

So the wall Is 40" in length, but the cabinet is reading a dimension of 24" in depth/length. Although it should be 36" in depth/length. Correct?

Yes Todd that is correct. It seems that the dimensions for the corner cabinets from the standard directory are incorrect. It should read width 36". The depth is correct at 24". When I bring in a corner cab from my library the sizes are correct, but the POF numbers are still incorrect.

Todd, after digging a bit more I have found out that walls that are 55" or less the POF numbers are reversed. 56" or greater the POF numbers are correct. Hilite the cab in test 4 and note the POF dimensions, then do the same in test 5.

This is a 5.1 bug and I have listed it for the programmers.
Thanks
