E-Stop

Post by Damon Nabors »

Looking for some help from anyone on a Sunday. I left the machine for a few day to go on vacation, I got back and was going to cut a job out today and the machine will not run. I was going to change out the outline tool due to age, and I replaced it. I normally will cut a dado in a board and mic the dado to get the correct tool diameter. I placed a piece of scrap on the table and loaded a program, It went through the blue screens asking if spoil board is correct, sheet number, raise pop up pins, I then hit start and the pop up pins lowered but the screen kept the "locate ####### material and hit start" message on it and nothing happened. I then locked out the tool switch and dbl checked to make sure the tool was in the spindle correctly and it was. Then I went back to the machine and unlocked the tool lock out switch and the machine will not come out of e-stop now. If I move the gantry a little manually it will try to Home out, but I get a BANG sound and it goes back into e-stop. I do not see any thing in the way of the gantry moving or any other interference. I can move the gantry easily by hand and do not feel anything causing a problem.

Any Ideas out there???

Thanks,

Hi Damon,

This is gary, you helped me on some issues with ecab. I don't own a machine myself, but worked in a machine shop.

Have you tried shutting down the whole system and then start up, also check your stops for home.

Damon,

Can you home all axes out by hand, then move all axes and try to home each axes Z first then X ,Y by machine?

Gary,

We are up and running again. It seems like when your under the gun sometimes to get things done you forget. My lovely wife just came out and asked how things are going and I told her about the delema. She makes mental notes everytime we have had a problem and said "Oh, sounds like the pop up pins are sticking again". Well, that was it.

They say behind every good man is a good woman :D

Thanks for your help

Damon,

What would we do without them, I can't count the times my wife has pulled me out of trouble on the job.
