Re: nvidia fx 3500
Memory size is not a very good benchmark for graphics card performance. A 512MB GeForce card will not necessarily be better than a 128MB Quadro FX card with regard to eCabinets. With the OpenGL requirements of eCabinet Systems, the chip's OpenGL hardware-level processing speed (as generally signified by its model number) is most important, followed by memory performance (generally the bus speed, which is also related to the model number), then memory size.
For those tight on finances, the Quadro FX 500-series cards (550/560/570/etc) offer a great performance/price benefit, even though they have only 128MB or 256MB of onboard memory.

Re: nvidia fx 3500
I have the Quadro FX 570 and have been quite happy with it's performance. Around $200.

Dean is dead on.
Some months ago I upgraded from a 1Mhz Dell w/ a GeForce Vid card with 256 in the memory banks, to a Dell Work station that has a Quadro FX, w/128 in the mem bank. Zero difference in performance, which has always been good.
regards,
