Hi Guys
I am coming over next week, I'm from the UK so just want to ask a question about data ports. I am bringing my lap top over and the place where I'm staying says that it has data ports, so does this mean I will be able to link to the internet? also if this is the case what cable do I need to buy?
It would be very helpful if someone knows anything aboout this.
Thanks,
Leigh

Re: Data Ports
Standard CAT 5 cable will do fine. Most places seem to have wi-fi as well.

Re: Data Ports
Hi Rick
Thanks for the information, I also read somewhere that you have to be careful with dataports as it may fry your modem, so have you ever heard anything like this? or is this rubish.
Thanks,
Leigh

Re: Data Ports
Most hotels and such only allow Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. I haven’t heard of any that allow free dial-up access. I have heard that connecting modem to a digital phone line can damage your modem because the digital line uses a higher current.

We also have a office with wi-fi and cable connection for our training customers and visitors. It is not available after hours, howevr.
