Re: 68% yield
Gary,
You can set the yield percentages to board stock or sheet stock to whatever yield you are actually getting in your shop.
In board stock remember that eCabinets is calculating true board feet 1" X 12" X 12". ( your lumber supplier is going to consider this a nominal thickness. they are charging you for one board foot for every 3/4 board foot eCabinets calculates.)If you set your based stock thickness at 3/4" it is going to calculate 25% less than what you need. I get closer to 50% yield on my board stock through eCabinets.
You must start at a 75% yield just to break even with your lumber supplier.

Re: 68% yeild
Thanks Kerry,
I found where I can control the yeild, just frustrated because material list is not picking up all the sheet stock on the job
missed about 7 sheets that I have to eat. This is a great program for drawing but as for as making a material and hardware list it has a lot to be desired. This is the third job that this has happened. Can't figure it out
I have triple checked everything even saved every cabinet again and still no luck.
Have you ever had this problem?
Gary

Re: 68% yield
Gary,
eCabinets should not miss any sheet stock.
Be sure to nest your sheets and you can look at the diagrams to see if all your parts are there.
if a part is too big to nest it will give you an error.

Re: 68% yeild
Kerry,
Found that out one of my backs is about 53" wide, but when the cabinet was drawn it took without an eror so I assumed that it would split the back down the middle and add a second sheet. The reason for the wide back is so a 44" flat screen can fit between the fluted trim. So how do you tell the program to split the back and add a sheet?

Re: 68% yield
Gary,
You would have to give your back an inset that would cut out of the sheet stock you are using (and put the seam where you want) and then use a stretcher out of the same back material to complete the back. This will let you re-size the cabinet and create construction. If you do not need to re-size you can just add a display panel of the back material.
The cabinet editor will let your back be whatever width it is. The nest is where you learn that it will not cut out of your sheet stock.

Re: 68% yeild
So I can just add a display panel and push it through the back to make the seam and fool the program.

Re: 68% yield
Gary,
On items like this you must decide how you want to build it and tell ecabinets to do it that way.
If your back is 53" wide and say you want to split it in the middle to book match it, you would give your back a right inset of 26.5" and then add a display panel that is 26.5" or a stretcher that is 26.5" wade and give it the appropriate insets to finish sizing the piece. eCabinets will then nest the piece properly.
When the nesting diagrams tell you a piece won't nest, that is telling you to look at your construction. it won't work.
I used different materials for the back in the picture below so you could see how it works.
