Generate a report?

Post by leigh mills »

At the current moment we are printing reports such as "Delivery Note" - "Invoice" - "Order Acknowledgement" etc. via our database, which then matches up with our current program what we are using, until we get eCabinets up and running.

This is a problem with using eCabinets, because if we print the reports from the database it wont match up with eCabinets. This is because you can have a set sequence in eCabinets in the Batch layout, which means it will work, as you can line it up to match the reports from the database. But if designing in the layout area you dont know what sequence the cabinets will be, which then causes a problem as it doesnt talley up with the delivery note.

So what we need is the delivery note numbers as well as the invoice and order to match the cab number on the label, this way the factory staff can match up and make sure there are no errors. (At the moment this cant be done, and it will cause errors on the shop floor)

A way of solving this problem would be to have an export function which then means we could export to the database, which it then doesnt matter about the layout of the sequence because it is all being kept the same.

another method would be to have the ability of printing these from in eCabinets but this still would need an export function to get to the database.

Is anybody else facing the same or a similar problem? If so how do you work around this?

Thanks,
