I have been workikng on this drawing for about 10 hours saving the job as I made changes to the cabinets. I went to open the file today and it was gone I went to the file tab the title was there but it said it was an invalid file, so I went to the customers file it was not there, so I went to eCab main folder it's not there.
Does anybody have any ideas on what might have happen

Re: INVALID FILE
How are you trying to open the job up?
Gary,
I have learned over the years that when I work on a big project, I save Incrementally with a different name everytime I save.
Example:
The first time I save, the file name will be
job1
The next time I save the file name is
job2
And so on.
This way if your most recent file has become corrupt. You can always go back to the one you saved before it. You may need to do some stuff over, but at least you don't have to start from scratch. Files can become currupt when you save and delete, save and delete, many times. I don't know why, but it happens.
If you would like to send me the file, I can try loading it up.

Re: INVALID FILE
Todd,
Thats what i'm saying the file is gone and I can't find it, it is no where it vanished how can that be the only trace of the file is in the file tap on eCab. and when I try to open it it says it,s an invalid file. Even if I said no don't save when I closed the latest change it still should have the file.

Re: INVALID FILE
Gary,
Are you using Vista as you OS? If so did you install as the Admin.?
This is a post on another thread from Dan Epps.
Bill is referring to the folder C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files. This is where Vista stores files now instead of in C:\Program Files.
In one of their strokes of genius, Microsoft decided that changing the location of files would prevent hackers from gaining access to your computer. Unfortunately for Microsoft, the hackers are usually a few steps ahead of them and have their next scheme developed before Microsoft can respond to the last one.
Check to see if your files are being saved in the directory stated above
