No image in the item box

when I go to the cabinet editor and pick my display ojects, then select a directory there is no picture in the item box but if I use the the item the picture does come up in the cabinet editor.

Does anybody have any ideas o0n why this is happening

This is just happening with the images I save the standard images are just fine
