Can you bring a dxf file into the shape manager. That is the hardest thing for me to control

Yes you can Gary. When in SM, click Open, then at the bottom select the type of file you want to open.

I have been on this thing for 3 hours my tool is cutting upside down. I tried flipping the part, I tried flipping the tool and it still comes out wrong so ....... I will just make a new tool wrong I keep getting an invalid aurgument I have trimmed and retrimmed with no good results

I wonder am I the only one with this problem or does the shape manager need some fine tuneing

You can post your cabinet file as well as the tool file. I can try to apply your profile with your tool here and see if I get the same thing.

When you are designing a tool in the Shape Manager, remember how it will be used in the Edge Profiler.

When you select a tool to use in the Edge Profiler, the dialog presents a multi-colored area for moving the tool around. Imagine this area as being your material lying flat on the bench and you are looking at the end of it. Yellow represents the material, blue is "off the edge" and gray is "air space" above the material.

The yellow-blue intersection represents the beginning of the tool path you chose just before getting the tool selection dialog.

With this in mind, now imagine you are using a hand router to apply the profile. Gray represents you holding the router above the material. Setting a negative plunge depth moves the router closer the the surface of the material while a positive plunge depth moves it higher into the "air."

Same with the blue and yellow areas: Blue is the area away from the edge to be profiled and yellow is the material. If you set a right offset that moves the tool away from the yellow-blue intersection, you will be plunging the router into the middle of the material. If you set a left offset that moves the tool away from the yellow-blue intersection, you will have the router off the edge of the material.

another thing, If you are drawing your tool in deltcad and then saving it as a dxf. You need to be sure and draw it with your x and y coordinates. If you just start in the middle of the page, your tool is not going to be located correctly when you open the file in ecab

Yes Damon I know, I just select the tool and move it to Xo Yo and then save it( when it lets me)
