Since I don't have a CNC I'm wondering how you do chamfers and round-overs using a CNC. If I create a tool using the Profile Editor and then use it in the Part Editor will this actually be performed on the machine? Does it require that you put in a chamfer or round-over bit, or does the machine just fake it with the tools it has?
The material I'm looking at milling is bamboo plywood and I'm wanting to do either a 1/8" chamfer or round-over.
Either way, You can use custom tools or if you don't have a specific profile tool, you can run the part through the profile modeler and model it out with end mills and ball nose tooling.
custom tooling is the way to go in most cases. Profile modeler is great but time consuming. If it was a one time build that I was working on and needed to spend several hundred dollars on tooling. I am going the slow route and Profile Model that bad boy.
