I haven't used the software in a while but do have the updated version. For some reason when I make an assembly it won't let me save it. An error message comes up saying that there was an error creating directory.
What am I doing wrong?
Another problem is I can't get rid of the cabinet after I've created the assembly. I have to shut the program down and restart.

It sounds like you are running a Vista OS. If so you need to read this thread. Here is a link. This thread will tell you how to install ecabs so it will run correctly on your system.

Have you been able to save assemblies thus far? By this I mean, is this something that just popped up or has this always given you problems.

Re: Can't save assembly
I'm not running Vista. I have XP. This has just popped up. It's been several months since I've used this software and have upgraded to the latest version. With the older software I never had any problem.
Re: Can't save assembly
Dave,
FYI, You cannot save a file into the default directory. You may try changing the directory name when trying to save the assembly. Hopefully this helps. Let me know.

Re: Can't save assembly
I've changed the directory name and it still doesn't work.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Can't save assembly
Dave,
Goto my computer and make sure the following directory exists. C:\Program Files\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\assemblies
If this directory does not exist, you will need to create an assemblies directory you can save to. Note: The directory needs to be named "assemblies", and nothing else.
To create a new directory (folder):
Goto C:\Program Files\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems
Right click>New>Folder
Name folder "assemblies">then enter
Now try to save the assembly through ecabs using the directions below.
-Directions for saving an cabinet/assembly:
Load your cabinet up into the Cabinet editor.
Click the blue disk icon to bring up the save dialog box.
Click the "Save Assembly" radio button.
Change the Directory name to "Standard new".
Click the save button.
Let me know.
