Hafele Metal Box System

Post by Damon Nabors »

I have been using the Blum Metal box system but now I have a customer wanting to use Hafele Metal Box system. I can not find GOOD instructions for the Hafele system. By chance does anyone out there have a good set of instruction and possibly a hole pattern for the 118mm Metal Box slide? The only thing I can find is the Hole spacing from one hole to the next and they appear to be different from Blum's, but I can not find any spec's on clearances. These cabinets are going to be shipped RTA and customer is furnishing the hardware so I need to make sure the hole patterns are good. Unfortunately I do not have any Hafele slides here to play around with for specs.

Thanks

The first pattern on the Hafele list in the Hardware Hole Editor should work. hf-42337030.ptn

Rick, That pattern is not High enough. The best I can tell, It is similar to the Blum Metabox 320K5500. Because of the tall sides on the drawer, the pattern has to be raised and Hafele doesn't give the minimum opening on there site like Blum shows on theirs.

I see what you mean Damon. You might have to place the pattern manually :wall: :wall: .

Damon,
We use these. I believe they are the same as the epoxy slides... Give me a minute I'll run outback and take some measurements and re-post.

Damon,
It is the same hole pattern on the cabinet as the epoxy slides and the drawer left and right gap are .5". Now the tougher question that I don't know the answer too... The guy who draws these for us doesn't use ecabs, so I'm not sure the "slide distance from bottom setting". According the to drawing, it looks like that should be 120mm. Unfortunately, I'm heading out so I can't experiment til later this evening. I'll try to work on it this weekend for you.

Thanks for the help. The best I can tell, they are about the same as the Blum. I called Hafele and that was like trying to talk to a brick wall. :?
