Re: column
Look at the video's for Part editor and it will explain how to use it.
First you will have to create a verticle tool in the shape of the column. Then create a round column out of a display cube and then pull up your tool and use the "Profile Edge" tool in the parts editor to run around the cylinder to create a turning.

Gary,
Here is one I have used in the past. You should be able to Scale and re-texture it in the Display Part Editor.

Re: column
Dan,
This is true but with having a lack of work, needed to get this drawing and bid out as soon as possible. There was no time to justify a learning curve. I am still going to put forth an effort to learn this, and I will still have some questions. I feel this is a process that I do need to acquire, but in this particular situation I felt the need to ask.

Re: column
I feel that one should never try to learn something new while under the gun for a job.
Having said that, though, the procedure to create such a part only takes a couple of minutes at best and learning to create it doesn't take much longer.
The old "eCabinet Systems Made Easy" guide had a section on creating exactly such a corner post. Since it is not part of the software any more, you have to have it on your computer to use it.
Here is the section dealing with making a turned coner post (there are four images so it will take two posts):

Re: column
Thanks Dan,
Once again you come through with step by step instructions, when everything smooths out ( with work) I will learn this.
At this point in time just trying to keep my head above water.
