CNC computer

We had our CNC for about 2 and a 1/2 years and the computer is sloving down a bit. With all of the newest updates it's not suprising at all. I am wondering what can we do to speed it back up. I am thinking to add more memory. What RAM is installed in the CNC computer?

I would recommend that you contact our Retro/Upgrade dept. here at Thermwood to discuss your options. In any case, if you are to update your control, it is best to go directly through Thermwood Corp. to ensure you are getting a setup in which we've tested and can fully support. Other options may work, however the ability to support that product would be out of our hands.

Something you might consider is to defragment your disk drive. That can cause slowdowns over time.

i defragment the disk every 2 months, but it does not help as much as it did in the earlier days. I think that all of the new updates are slowing it down( THM v7, CN v5.47, Widows XP sp3, newest anti-virus,...), so i am hoping that more RAM will fix it!

I wouldn't say that my Control PC is slowing down. But I would say that control nesting takes a lot longer to load than before these last few up dates .

I think taht it takes longer to nest and writhe cnc code too.
