water-resistant wood finish

Hi Everyone,

I have a walnut countertop which will have a sink in it. Does anyone know of a heavy duty, water-resistant, food safe finish? I need a dull or low-sheen finish. I do not want a pour-on type.

I would use a 2K Poly In a dull sheen. Apply 3 coats 3-5 mills thick and sand with 320 inbetween coats. One thing about this stuff. You must be set up to use it and ready. You only have a pot life of 8 hrs and then it is rock hard.

For me, maintenance would be the main factor. I like linseed oil or Mineral oil on a rubbed out piece of furniture but on a counter top, I would think the 2K poly would be less maintenance, but either would work.
