I worked outside this last weekend without a hat and sunburned my head. That is why I would like some of this hair back.

There was a thread on the WoodWeb that was asking how some of us got into cabinet making. My story was that I quit college to join a band and become a rock star and that is how I got into cabinet making.

The guitar in the picture is actually and Ovation Glen Campbell Artist Model. (Yea I caught a lot
of flack about playing a Glen Campbell signature guitar but it had a real shallow back that I
liked) I installed two Barcus Berry Pickups inside. One on the bridge and one by the
neck.This is the only acoustic guitar I kept when I quit playing. (I don't know why because
the ovation sound is pretty bad)
You got me thinking and here is a list of the guitars that I owned from about 1972 till 1991
when I quit working with bands.

Ovation Glen Campbell Artist Acoustic
Ovation Custom Balladeer Acoustic
Guild F-512 12 String Acoustic
Alvarez Yairi Cedar Flamenco Guitar (can't remember the model, great instrument, I might start playing again if I could find this guitar)
Mossman 6 String Acoustic (I think it was a Great Plains Model)
Martin D-28-12 12 String Acoustic (this guitar is still in Dalhart)
An Acoustic 6 string I bought at the Western Auto Store (my first guitar)

Ovation Deacon solid body Electric 6 String (funny looking but a good guitar)
Les Paul Custom (I tricked this guitar out with Dimarzio split coil pickups) This was my favorite electric that I ever owned)
Les Paul Custom with Fretless Wonder Neck (didn't like the Wonder Neck)
Fender Stratocaster 1960's Vintage. Great Guitar should have kept it.

Gibson SG Solid body 6 String
Gibson SG Double Neck 6 and 12 (a novelty)

Wow, a Guitar Junky for sure..Some very nice ones. I never got real good, I started doing Corian and it affected my fingers, went from a roughneck carpenter with callouses the size of a small house on my hands to having very thin skin on the end of my fingers. I dont hardly touch the stuff any more but my hands have never toughned back up and will not callous over no matter what I do. Of course Dupont has never heard any thing like this before, even though it affects my brother in the same way. I actually had to go to Dermatologist and he gave me antibiotics that would clear up the burning and itching as long as I took them.
Anyway, very cool to play instruments and I will die wishing I would have mastered the guitar, I love almost any guitar music from classical to blues, even old Glen Campbell.

Vine Gill, Eric Clapton, Chet Atkins, some of the young guys, just awsome. I almost always have the Eric Clapton Guitar festival playing in my dvd player at home....
