Ok so i made an MDF door off the machine using regular spiral bits. But when finished i am having a problem with a Pitted Look. The outter cut edges also have a problem as they are rough (this all after sanding still) What do people do to seal there MDF or Fill these pits first before Painting or is there a paint that would best work with MDF. OR am i using the wrong Grade of MDF to make doors!
We have 2 grades here one is called lite board MDF which isn't as dense and does tend to pit.We use a dynabride dual action sander (DA) quick sand with 120 grit>another sand 180 grit>final sand 320 grit.We find that if you cut the panel 1mm larger by the time you finish sanding its back to the correct size. Some guys wipe a bit of sanding sealer on the edges between the 180 and 320 grit .Humidity also can cause strife. You should seal your edges within 4-5 hours after sanding
