KCDW to Thermwood
I need to cut some parts for a shop who is using KCDW. Can anyone tell me exactly what he and/or I will need to be able to cut a job from KCDW on the router? I remember something about a job-level interface for KCDW, but dunno what the status is on that or what's involved in making it work. So... how do I do it?

Hi Jeremy,
Yes, you can take a file from KCDW and LOAD it into the Control Nesting software to enable you to NEST and WRITE CNC code. Once the file has been correctly setup in KCDW, you will then LOAD the .mdb file into control nesting. If you take a look at the Control Nesting Manual, under the topic Control Nesting, Job Level Interface, there is some information that you can share with the shop who is creating the KCDW file and this should allow you both to work together to cut cabinets on the Thermwood router. Below is the link to on-line Control Nesting Manual:

Re: KCDW to Thermwood
Thanks for that info Ryan. So he will need to purchase the CNC module/output thing for KCDW in order for this to work?

Re: KCDW to Thermwood
Thermwood offers a Desktop version of THM software which will allow you to LOAD a .MDB file from KCDW, NEST and WRITE CNC code. However, you will need to contact your KCDW dealer to discuss specifics on setting up the .mdb file for output and usage with Thermwood Control Nesting whether it is to be LOADED on the Desk top version or the actual THM control.
