I am having trouble reinstalling Ecabinet Systems after a computer problem. When I entered my original registration code it gave me the message " The server does not recognize the entered URI". I downloaded a new code and tried that, to same effect. I then downloaded the ecabret utility. Same thing. I did close my firewall and Virus programs temporarly and it started to connect, but after 10 minutes I closed the program. Tried this several times to the same effect. Please help.
Thanks
A URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) is used to identify the location of a resource on the internet, in this case the eCabinets license server.
Are you reinstalling from CD or just trying to install the latest build? If you are trying to reinstall using only the latest build, that won't work--you have to reinstall from CD.
If you are using the CD, is it the latest version 5 CD or an earlier version?
Make sure that you have A/V, etc turned off during the complete install process. Also, make sure you are installing as an administrator and not a regular user.

I did use the 4.1 CD that I received with my membership in 2006. I turn of the Virus program and the fire wall temporarily while I was trying to register. I didn't turn them off when I was installing the CD.
Thanks
The use of the version 4.1 CD is no longer supported by the registration servers. To get eCabinets to work, you would have to install your 4.1, upgrade to 5.0, then load the latest 5.0 build then register.
Best bet: call in for a new 5.2 CD.
