bump bump. My whole system is painfully slow now too. I haven't used it since the last update so maybe that's why.

I removed the last update and can still not print or see a print preview from Cutlist. I did a nest and was able to print out the single sheets with the dims.

Try updating your printer driver, or uninstall and reinstall the printer, or a different printer. Can you print to Image Writer?

I don't see how it could be my printer when I can print from all other places. It will not show any options when I hit print in CutList.

Walley,

Sometime my printer will act up like that. Just restart your computer and it should work.

Wally,

Sometimes applications like eCabinets will upgrade and require the latest drivers for other components to work properly. In this case a program that was printing properly before the upgrade will now need the updated drivers.
I don't know that this is your problem but it won't hurt to update your printer drivers.

If you have something like PrimoPDF, try printing the cut list to a PDF. If that works then it is most likely your printer drivers.

Dan -- I updated my drivers and nothing changed. As I was saying - when I hit print (when in cutlist) it does nothing. When I hit print preview while in cutlist it shows a blank page. It doesn't give me the option to print to anywhere. Also if I hit - Export to Excel - it does nothing.

If it's not wanting to export to Excel as you stated in your first post, (finally got it  ) then it shouldn't be printer related. Sorry to send you on a goose hunt Wally. I was just throwing out idea's. Have you tried to run the repair option from the disk?

Try this Wally: Look in C:\Program Files\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\html and see if you have a file named current_cutlist.htm.

If so, rename it then run the cut list again.

For the export to Excel, look in C:\Program Files\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\temp for a file named cutlist.xls. If it exists rename it and run the export again.

Okay Dan -- That started me thinking. I did rename those files on C drive and then remembered that all the files are stored on D drive and went in there and renamed the same files. It didn't help but I think I have to get everything on 1 drive as there is 2 of every file. Do you agree and what would you do??

Where do you have eCabinets set to run from? You can check this by running the registry editor (start->run->regedit) and looking at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\eCabinetSystems. It will have a key named Base_Path that shows the path to your installation.

It would be best to delete the unused files on the unused path just to eliminate any future confusion. Make sure you have current versions of your libraries and jobs before deleting anything.

DO NOT change the registry key value!!!

When you click the cut list icon, do you get a correct cut list displayed? If so, did you try printing to PrimoPDF (or another PDF "printer")? If you don't have a PDF printer you can download PrimoPDF at http://www.primopdf.com (it's free).

Okay Dan -- I deleted all files on D drive except my jpegs and job files. I reinstalled Ecabs and got a new code and it is all on C drive. I cannot print from Cutlist or Cost sheet or Buy list. It doesn't give me an option to print to anything, it just doesn't do anything when I hit print or Export. The cutlist is there and is right.
