G,day from oz.
Sorry this is not realy an ecabs subject but the tool i am looking for would be of interest to any kitchen or built in furniture
makers. My wife saw this being used on "This old house". It was some kind of laser gadget that recorded dimentions and
iregularities in the shape of a room then sent this information, by email back to the workshop where counter top templates
were then made. I havnt been able to find any info on this tool anyware. I have looked on the TOH wbsite with no result.
Just wondered if any ecab users knew of sutch a tool. thanks.
John.
you should call the counter top shop from the show.
Counter Intelligence Inc. they are in silver spring Md
the most annoying ads on our TV these days.
don't use my name. burned that bridge long ago...
Our company uses them all the time for our countertops, they are one of the best tools for accurately recording wall scribe. Before we used the lasers we were constantly having to scribe our tops in the field(often in the customers driveway with a belt sander.)having to bring them in and out of the house (or commercial site)so we wouldn't make a mess of the customers kitchen. Now we lase the cabinets and wall before fabrication, add overhangs, cutouts, ect in cad transfer them to our thermwood, cut and go! Much more accurate and alot less callbacks, although we have a templater who templates everything by hand and make by far the most accurate templates I've seen.
