ERROR IN FILE\" MISSING OR OUT-OF-DATE EXPORT DLL

Post by Lawrence Kolegue »

Could someone please tell me why when i go to export labels in the nesting area it tells me \" ERROR IN FILE\" MISSING OR OUT-OF-DATE EXPORT DLL. I have the latest update 5.2 build 5. I talked to Dan Epps and he said the following:

You have to have Crystal Reports version 10 installed to get this DLL. Are you running the latest version of eCabinets? This was supposed to have been fixed.
Thanks,
Dan Epps

I have ver 8.5. of Crystal. Dan sent me cpre32.dll ver 10.5 and i tried to replace the older version, but then the error message was "Failed to create the Crystal Query Engine". Any ideas? thanks

Larry,

Crystal Reports 10 is not needed. eCabSys utilizes Crystal Reports 8.5.

We recommend that you try the following:
* Create a nest in eCabSys
* With eCabSys still running, launch your 8.5 Crystal reports.
* Load the eCabSys .RPT file in CR
* In CR Select Print, then Export. Does this work?

Hi Scott
Thanks for the quick reply. I have several questions.
1. Where do I find Crystal Reports? I looked in ecab directory and my docs and settings but found nothing. All the printing works, so it must be there.
2. Where do I find the RPT file the nest created? Name of file? Directory?

You have to buy Crystal Reports...only a runtime is included with eCabinets. You only need the full version if you plan on creating custom reports.

Larry,

Do you have Internet Explorer 8 installed on your PC?

Larry,

Thanks for the reply. I reproduced your issue on a machine here and we deduced it down to IE-8 as the only unique difference. So I wanted to confirm that you had IE8 as well so we did not jump the gun.

The following worked for us here:
* Shut down eCabSys
* Extract the files that are in the attached zip file into your { D:\eCabinet Systems 5.2\doors\Conestogaz\ } directory
* launch eCabSys, nest, and try the export option.

Let me know your results...
