Hello Everyone,
I have researched the archives and am unable to get my head around this.... maybe there's a tutorial like "How to convert DXF to HSF for Dummies" somewhere?
This is probly really simple, but I'm getting confused with the different methods posted, such as "convert to STL, then import, then layer, then shade, then save,...." etc. I need to convert two DXF files to HSF's so's I can import them into a project. I've DL'd a couple of different programs, but can't seem to get them to work.
Can someone out there help clear this up for me??
Thanks very much in advance!!

Re: How to convert from .DXF to .HSF?
Hi Jon. The Process is as follows: you will need to convert from DXF to STL with a 3rd party app like Accutrans or TurboCad first before you bring the object into the Display part Editor and convert it there to HSF. If you want to edit textures and colours the part will have to be broken down into layers so you can process each seperately and then recombine in the editor.

Re: How to convert from .DXF to .HSF?
Hi Nick,
Thank you for posting the reply.
I did import the DXF into TurboCad (ver 10) and tried to save it as an STL, but the file extension STL isn't listed as an option to be saved as. Any other suggestions?
Thanks again,
Jon Crawford

Re: How to convert from .DXF to .HSF?
Jon,
Not all versions of Turbocad will convert to .stl (stereo lithography) format.
You might try to export from TurboCad instead of saving. .stl might be available there.
If not you can get Accutrans 3d and use it to convert.
