Sample .HSF's

Is there anyway to organize our .hsf's into catagories or folders . So that we don't have to wade through hundreds of .hsf's to find the one we want?

You could rename the files with the catagory as the first part of the name

Ie:

toasters toaster oven.hsf
toasters toasting platter.hsf
sink SS 25 x 32 sink.hsf
sink White 22 x 32 sink.hsf


etc.

You can create new folders inside the eCabinets/Import directory to organize your files. All folders must stay in the eCabinets/Import folder for eCabinets to find them. You can't have subfolders inside the folders you create though.

I tried that last night Kerry. It wouldn't show the other folders. I made them using Explorer. Is there another way they need to be created for them to show up?

OK, I had a thought and tried it out. You need to go to the Display Part Editor, bring the part in and save it in a directory that you name. I guess after you name the directory you can just transfer the files over to it.

I am able to create new folders in explorer. Using the display part editor to create the folders is probably best. Remember that you must have your .hsf file and a .jpg file (300X300)with the same file name to be able to select the object such as glass.hsf and glass.jpg (If you don't have the .jpg then you won't see your object in eCabinets)

What I was thinking David wanted to do is just organize objects he already had in the import folder. If you create new folders and move both the .hsf and .jpg files you can arrange them any way you want using explorer.

Wow fellas I didn't know that was possible. You are saying that as long as the files are in the import folder they will show up.Thx for the info!

I tried adding a folder into the import folder and it worked in Explorer. But when I went to access it through eCabs it wasn't showing up. So I tried the Part editor way and it showed up. The file existed in Explorer, but wouldn't show up in eCabs. I didn't restart the program, and I have noticed that a lot of things are read when eCabs first starts up and then aren't refreshed.
