Need Proper Shelf Support Method

Post by ChrisAquilino »

I am attaching a PDF of a book shelf cabinet that we will build this weekend. I have a center partition that will be daodo-ed on one side. The adjacent shelf is my area of concern. We plan to screw it through the slot. We don't want to use shelf pins. All material will be 3/4" birch plywood. How would an experienced cabinet maker make this connection? Thank

Chris,

Just change your dado depth from 3/8" to 1/4" . Then you can dado the center partition.

Not as busy as a need to be.

Wish you were closer to Atlanta and I would let you cut my parts for the my grandkits bookshelves. Would love to watch Auburn play on Saaturday instead of runnning a router!

We're planning on working Saturday anyway, so you could always bring the material to us along with a few cold ones and watch the game on the TV in our office while we cut the parts. Sounds like a win-win scenario to me!
