Changing material thickness after PE cuts

Post by Josh Rayburn »

Still on RC3

Load this job:
Yastion Entertainment 010610.esj
(5.77 MiB) Downloaded 277 times
Go to batch
change materials
change all materials to a different thickness
(in this case changing from '.735 raw a up' to '.700 raw' material and the '.735 5x8 raw' to '.75 60x96 mdf'

It appears that when changing material thickness from the batch, part editor cuts are lost with no warning or error message.
When bringing the cabinet back to the CE to check it out, part editor cuts do not show.
Select part, (the back of the upper cabinet) bring to part editor, I get two errors 'error converting part body to sheet body'
Then, strangely, the part editor cuts return (without provocation)

Go back to CE main, part now shows correctly. (with a rectangular cutout)
Select that same part, click CM button
error 'there are no edited parts in the current cabinet'
therefore cannot constrain or check dimensions of cutout

now, select the deck of the 'ent base' cabinet (the one with the six doors) - this does not show any part editor work in the CE when first loaded
bring the deck to part editor
now it shows the cutout
return to CE main
now it shows the cutout

nest from CE (that is so cool)

the deck of the base cabinet does not have a cutout
the back of the upper cabinet shows a cutout

please help

Problem resolved.
Ryan,
Your help over the phone is much appreciated.
I cannot tell you what a joy it is to experience customer service like this. Your outstanding level of service, willingness to help, patience, and diligence is a model of what every company's service staff should be striving to achieve. I will admit that beta testing is at times very frustrating, but it's a great feeling to nail down a bug. I also cannot imagine the frustration you must have on your end - but at the end of the day, after dealing with the broken beta1, then the semi-broken beta2, etc. etc. we have got an awesomely cool and powerful software package here.
Couldn't do my job without all your help, so I really cannot thank you enough :D
