Open the attached cabinet in the Cabinet Editor, then try to save. I get the error shown in the attached screenshot.

I got this error a few times and it was related to the directory I was trying to save the cabinet to.
Click the browse button and select the directory in which you choose to save to. This solved my issue, even if was the same directory as I was originally trying to save to.

Jon, What was the issue with the directory? I am assuming it was some odd character in the name, so could you let me know what you found.
