I just cut out 8 cathedrial arched doors today. Cycle time is 8.5 minutes. This is cut time only, no prep time other than setting the jig on the machine and getting my dust collector in place. I've cut hundreds of doors and they have all come out great ( as long as my tooling is sharp)!!!!!

Re: 5 piece door
Ok Ray I get the message.
What would be good is seeing a youtube video of what you do and the setup tips with the Thermwood. Maybe someone at Thermwood could offer to upload for you if its difficult.
Now if the Thermwood could just sand that for you it would be brilliant. I had thought those flapper wheels might do the trick but it seems no one uses the Thermwood for this use.
Regards
Neville

Re: 5 piece door
Hi Veville,
I wasn't trying to send any message just passing on results for anyone interested.
I'd LOVE it if someone could invent a tree that would produce solid panels to cut doors out as if it were MDF!! You folks down under have many spiecies not found anywhere else, could you work on this???
In case you are thinking where you live sucks - We have over 5' of snow so far this year and we're running out of places to put it. Want some, all it will cost is shipping - no guarentees on the condition it arrives in.
Regards
Ray

Re: 5 piece door
Hi Ray,
Yes I had thought about getting doors in from the States but the demand is not there. If it was, you would have the issue of time as shipping takes 2 to 3 months then I am hit with a few taxes.
I might just do it one day for my personal use.
We do have some nice timbers down here in Australia. From the East coast to the west coast where I am is totally different species. They are burgundy reds to orange browns to the light yellow tans.Timber here has now shifted to almost totally furniture. Which if I am honest feel where it should be used not on 20 year throw away kitchens. No offence intended Ray. I just mean my heart breaks when I see good timber kitchens ripped out and put in a dumpster for a two pack white lacquered one.
Have been following the weather patterns in the States and you have been getting some decent blizzards. As I drove through those area's its amazing how things change. Now I know why these big pyramid things full of sand or salt were so plentiful.
In my part of the world it has been mid 80's to high 90's with little rain. I noticed last night in Sydney they had 3 inches of rain over night. Might have been from a tail end of a cyclone?
Better get on with work
Regards
Neville
