Cabinets not placing properly

Post by Jason Gooch »

Hi - I'm having a couple issues when I try to add cabinets in elevation view. Only started happening since upgrading to v6. Not sure if these are bugs, user error or known issues, figured I'd get some feedback.

1) When I place a cabinet, it will ignore the "Place mode" setting and attempt to align to back. I have to choose "Free Style", even if it's already chosen. The same thing happens if I select a cabinet that's already in place and press "O" (move in wireframe) - it reverts to align to back.

2) Wall items - when placing a cabinet in wireframe, it will treat any wall item as an obstacle and attempt to resize to avoid it. Can't put a cabinet in front of an outlet anymore, never had this problem before.

Any help would be appreciated - Jason

Jason,

Sorry, I missed your last post.

I am unable to reproduce the Place Mode issue that you are talking about in question 1.

Issue 2, I can reproduce, but this is how it worked in Version 5.2 as well. The easiest way to work this that I found was to place the electrical outlet on the wall in elevation view, return to Overhead and then place the cabinets where they need to be. The other was is to use Freestyle, but that is difficult to place the cabinet in the correct position.

Hopefully, I am understanding what you are asking. Hope this helps.
