Hey guys!
I am trying to save my created TWD files on the CNC computer and the error that comes up is:"Error opening Ciphertext file for Thermwood encryption destination!
If I use Windows Explorer to copy and paste the files into an error comes up: "access denied"
Any ideas??

Hi John,
If you haven't already, put the CNC machine control into E-Stop mode and see if this affects your ability to save the .twd file to the control.

Re: TWD File Placement Error
Thanks Ryan, but it seems to be a networking issue. I can no longer connect to the internet (eventhough it has a hard connection through the network and all other computers on the network can connect). With each of the computers on the network I can see all folders that are shared except any "shared document" folders. Every time I try to access those I get an "access denied" but I can get into other computers c drive, my docs and others.
Sharing permissions are fully allowed for everyone so I am at a complete loss.
Most likely it is something simple...
Taking the jobs to the cnc with a memory stick is working.
Can you think of anything that I could be missing?
Thanks,
-John

Re: TWD File Placement Error
I was requesting that you try the file transfer with machine in e-stop, because in some cases in the past, I've seen where the Siemens drives will create enough electronic resonance to cause such error when attempting to save file to the Thermwood via. a network connection. On previous WIN 2k operating systems, Thermwood offered a filter that could be hardwired in the control cabinet and would cure this issue for the most part. A good test to see if file saving issues were/are related to electronic resonance from machine drives, is to simply place the control in e-stop and try the file transfer. Have you ever been able to access your control through your network?

Re: TWD File Placement Error
Yes, we have been able to do that until recently. I had a computer guy come in here yesterday and he ran a malware program on the control and found a couple of infections. We further found that it corrupted the OS which knocked out the ability to share files and also our access to the internet. Once we get this squared away I'll see if there is still an issue.Ryan Hochgesang wrote:Have you ever been able to access your control through your network?
