Double pass not working

Post by Dale Wills »

I have upgraded to the latest version 5.56 of control nest and have noticed that the machine is not taking any notice of my double pass settings and is doulble passing everything. I went back to version 5.54 and its works as it should. It's seems to have played up when version 5.55 came out as it won't work on it as it should. Anyone else getting this prolem?

Dale,

Can we assume that you are running in metric?

Dale,

Could you please tell me what the Double pass area that you have is displaying in control nesting? or submit to me an EXPORT from your control nesting. I've found that if there is a super large value in there, ie: 516128mm^2, then the double pass is not written in cnc code. The reason I noticed this value, is that when I switched from English to Metric units, my double pass size of 800in^2 was translated into 516128mm. Therefore I've found a bug with conversion, but also wanted to verify what you have for this setting.

Thanks!

Yeah running metric. We have our double pass setting set at 200000mm^2. Is this too big maybe.

The 200000 seems to be ok, however you need to check your Max Part Width or Length which is located just under the area setting, if this exceeds 1219mm it causes the double pass not to write in CNC file. I've submitted to engineering for review.

Thanks!

Hi

Since the update very large parts get a double pass all parts and under that a skin is left on [not cut through] is there a quick fix?

Thanks Stephen

Stephen,

We are not aware of this situation that you've mentioned. Please email supporting files (EXPORT, .hsf, and CNC file posted from control nesting) for reveiw with your setup. Email: program@thermwood.com and be sure to reference your Forum posting. In any case, if you've experienced an issue that you believe is due to the update, simply rerun the previous update that you were running with and choose the REPAIR option to put control nesting back as it was.
