V6 Directory
Can the Thermwood file be moved from Shared Docs to the same place as before in Program files?? At present there are 2 separate Thermwood files -- can they be joined or renamed?? TIA.

Re: V6 Directory
Is this not feasible?? I read the previous posts on this but didn't come to any conclusion from them.

Re: V6 Directory
Moving you User Data directory to the Program Files Folder is not recommend. But, you can move your user data path anywhere you want via the Settings/Preferences Dialog. However it should be noted that if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you will have to change the permission on the Program Files\Thermwood folder (possibly run as administrator) and/or turn off UAC to get it to work. This is due to the security changes made to Vista and Windows 7. The application data folder has to remain separate do to the fact you can shared the user data folder.

Re: V6 Directory
Wally,
I hope I am telling you this correctly.
The cabinet files that are in the C:\Program Files\Thermwood\eCabinets\cabinets folder are your old Version 5 files. They keep them there so you can access them and convert them to Version 6 cabinets and not overwrite your old files for safety. (so you don't accidentally overwrite or lose your original V5 files until they are all converted to V6)
Once you have opened the Version 5 cabinets and converted them to Version 6 they are saved in the C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\Cabinets folder.
Bryan,
I think Rick is saying that the application itself cannot be in the same folder with the shared data files as it was in Version 5

Re: V6 Directory
OK I got it now. Thanks Kerry & Rick!! I think I just might go to Win7 and start over anyways and just keep the cabs that I have made in V6. I will get rid of a lot of clutter as well, I think.

Re: V6 Directory
Kerry, Sorry I understand what Rick was trying to say.
After a rather hard week I was just amused by the typo's in Ricks post, and sympathizing with the hard week he's obviously had.
No offense intended.
