Was getting ready to put a new spacer board on, when I went to measure my tools after changing some tooling, i got a few suprise error message. Firts one was " Z Axis is out of Bounds". NC reset the machine and tried again, this time the error message was "Machine is out of table working enveloppe"
Rebooted controller, with the same results, dont matter what tool I tried to measure. PLC History screen is telling me that "The machine entered protected area around toolchanger, Press NC reset Twice..........", also, after the first error, the machine gave a "router overtemp error, (input 20)"
Help Please....

Re: Errors on tool measure
Dave,
The Z axis out of bounds error when measuring a tool will typically occur if the input for auto switch is ON prior to starting tool measuring routine. To fix this you would have to clean out switch and/or check all wiring that connects switch to controller to ensure connections are good.

Re: Errors on tool measure
Thank you for your reply Ryan,
I guess it's a service call, machine is 2 months old, will start emailing CNC Automation right away. Little disapointed that I got a reply faster from the forum, than from cnc automation, but can't argue, it was 2:00 when I called on a friday!
Thanks again for the swift reply

Re: Errors on tool measure
That switch is very easy to take a part and put back together. There is not much to it. I had to take mine apart soon after it was put into service. And I take it apart and check it every once in awhile.
You should have called Thermwood direct. These folks are the very best, they have stayed late and worked over on Friday to help me.
And since this is your first time resetting the spoil board there is a good chance that you are also doing something else wrong.

Re: Errors on tool measure
Thanks Will.
CNC Automation is the direct thermwood authority in Canada, and don't get me wrong their service has been great, we just discovered the problem late on friday just before end of shift, so just bad timming, sure problem will get taking care of on monday fairly quickly. Did play with the switch and blew it off, but to no avail, like I said, service call, I'm sure I can take apart myself (I'm a computer technician by trade) but machine is under warranty, and until it`s out of warranty, I will limit my acces to the guts of this machine to the basic maintenance service. I have enough headaches playing with the inside of my edgebander that I don`t fell like playing in the router yet.
