I have a 2.8Ghz Coreduo and 2GB yet V6 is still slow, worlds slower than 5.2 ever was. I though I might be able to find something here that might help but my searches were unsuccessful. Just moving around the program there is a 1-3 delay in everything, nothing moves smoothly or responds quickly. Going between cabinet editor and custom layout, not making any changes, can take min. 30 seconds if not a few minutes. The problem gets much worse the longer the program stays open. If it's been running for an hour, not even getting used, it will take over 5 minutes after clicking it on the taskbar for the program to actually respond to anything, and another 5 or so simply to get it to close. None of my jobs are very complex or very many parts, almost always under 20 sheets.
I'm not using a built in video card, I've got a Geforce 9600 with 512MB, is that good or bad? I find it hard to believe there's nothing that can at least make it a little better...I could do an average cabinet design in 5-10 minutes but the way it's running it takes over an hour; it'll take 5-10 minutes just to load the software, make a single change, and then saving it...tick tock tick tock. Everything else on the computer seem to run fine. Is there a computer Ior certain setup I can go buy that I can at least expect it to run better on? At this speed it would make it worth it if my only other option is waiting for the next build or version - is there a target date for that update to be released?
Rick is suggesting that you update the drivers for your video card. If you are using a desktop computer go to the nVidia site and download and install the latest drivers for your card. If it is a laptop it is best to get the updates from your laptop manufacturers site.
