With the Optimiser output it was fantastic when you could optimise on the X or Y axis with one of the recent NC upgrades. I was wondering if anything is in the works for a future NC upgrade. It would be ideal if we could move parts around on the screen to create our own off falls to the shape we can best use. I hope this is not too difficult for the programmers as I would imagine other industries like the plastic or glass would have tackled the problem in the past.
Maybe others could add to the post if they would find this ability useful.

I like this idea! The nesting does work very well, but there are those times when it would be nice to move a small part more to the center of the sheet for better hold down.
Having used that feature with other software, and being able to shit its orientation on the nest as well I can tell you it is a brilliant feature, that would be greatly appreciated.
I use this feature all the time with my other design software and it can be a big asset when trying to cram odd shape parts in. For instance placing small parts inside a ring shaped part. You can also change the orientation of the part turning it 90 or 180 degrees.
Well looks like this a long waited for request and something many would like seen implemented.
Maybe Ryan from Thermwood could offer his thoughts. Is it something that is on the wish list for a future addition or do they have other priorities?
Apart from having less waste by us occasionally overriding the optimising it is a good thought for sustainable manufacturing where we create less land fill and environmental problems by becoming more efficient by use of computer software from Thermwood.
This is a different subject but could not the drilling holes be better optimised so that it systematically works out the less travelling of the head. I may be wrong but doesn't it drill each part one at a time rather than treat all the holes as a full sheet? The more I can achieve in a given working week will reduce machine use thus wear and tear and electricity and labour time the better.
Currently there are no plans to implement this type of feature, however it does sound nice. We will certainly keep it on the "wish list". Thanks for your input.

Its something I and a few others are keen to do in getting maximum recovery from our materials. If you can save a sheet of material by manually overriding the software, that can be a $150.00 saving in my case.
I will bring this up again in a few months time to keep it towards the top of the NC wish list.
