change drawer slides

Post by Rick Fulgham »

Is this possible? My search didn't find anything.
My job is all designed and specified. But I need to change all of the drawer slides from simple side mounts - 1/2" clearance - to soft-close undermounts with 5/8" clearance. In other words, I need to change the sizes - ie cutlist - for all of my drawers. Is there a way to globally change this? like changine doors?
I use the exported cutlist in Excel, so I could just subtract 1/4" from the drawer fronts and backs. . .

I don't know of a way other then to delete all the drawers and then put them back in with the new hardware specified. This would be a really nice feature to have.

Personally, I use an Excel spreadsheet to do all my estimating. That way I can leave many things generic in eCabs and then make material changes in the spreadsheet. Works well.

Rick, you can take your cabinet back to the CE, then to the DBX Editor, hilite all the drawer boxes while holding the Ctrl key, then right click> Construction Settings, adjust the insets, go back to main. There the cabinet will regen with the new settings. Then go back to Custom Layout, apply changes. You would have to do this to each drawer cabinet, but your listings would be correct.
