Changing drawer material deletes machining info

Post by Neville Bastian »

We predrill our drawer fronts for metal sided drawers as Thermwood don't see it as a priority. Is there any chance on the next upgrade to let the machining info stay with a material change as it is deleted at the moment in cabinet batch.
Its a great feature in the cabinet batch area where you can change door and drawer materials. Could it also extend to all the other areas like carcass material, carcass edging etc. This would be a time saver than going to each cabinet and changing that.
One last thing. In the batch area you can change the name of a cabinet but if it is a assembly you can't. Is there a reason it is like that?
Apart from that keep up the good work. Hope its not too cold in Dale.

Regards

Same here Nev, not just draws. Spent hours the other day designing a bi-fold door system with all the drilling for flap hinges etc. Then the customer changes the design to be colour board edged all round instead of paintable satin board with no edging. Good bye all machining and constraints :(

Hi Jason,
Wow not a nice experence. Just as well she didn't change the door design a third time.
For us its a real time loser with each job requireing different door colours which is treated as a new material.
Hopefully its a simple fix for Thermwood. What do you think about other cabinet defaults being able to change? To me everything should be able to change if you are using seed cabinets other wise you need seed cabinets with every alternative material unless your OK changing each cabinet individually.
I guess you had no flood issues where you are?
