Nesting and cut list don't match

I've got a simple 6-drawer bathroom vanity that eCabinets can't decide how many pieces of 3/4" plywood I need to build it. The nesting function lays all the parts out nicely on 1 sheet of 3/4" plywood whereas the Cut List function tells me the vanity needs 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood (3337.93 sq/ inches.).

Am I missing something here? Which should I go with for estimating a project?

When you run a cut list without nesting, it can only take the total square inches of all the parts against the total square inches of your defined sheet size and apply an expected yield percent. This expected yield value is user defined in {Settings/Preferences} then {Define Costs}. Then, set the expected yield for the sheet stock product. If you want a more accurate cut list, you would want to go to {Nest Diagrams} and perform a nest, then run the cut list. Then it will use the actual yield value from the nest. The cut list will always tell you right above the sheet stock summary whether it is using estimated or actual yield.

Some time you can actually get the parts to nest in control nesting by changing some of the settings in CN
For instance lie to it about your sheet size, make it a little bigger or change the values in pocketing and then try nest x or nest y
