tool size error suggestion

Post by Forrest Chapman »

When writing the code sometimes in the past we have had tooling size errors. However the code is already written by the time u get the error. Why not have a popup that tells u what u need and ask you what tool number and other attributes u would like or something that doesnt require a full renest and rewrite.

Thanks for your input Forrest! In regards to this topic, we have implemented the Cancel button that allows user to stop CNC writing process if needed. If there is a tooling issue, this will occur when nesting the job, then the user can change tooling setup and renest to see if error is fixed prior to writing cnc. Not sure if I'm missing your point or if you have an older version of control nesting?

Thank you Ryan, I use that feature sometimes however if you need to know what tool is needed you will have to right the code and search the program.

I see.... I wasn't thinking of the detailed information regarding dia. Without knowing the design exactly, it is hard to know what tool dia. is necessary until looking at cnc code as you mention. I will bring this up to engineering to see if there is something in more detail that could be displayed and to eliminate browsing through the cnc code itself to get dia. value needed for operation.

Thanks!
