I haven't got a lot of experence with Gcode but currently we use Ecabinets to cutout our sink and hotplate openings.
I was wondering if anyone had a program they have developed in house they are willing to share?
The idea is the thermwood operator punches in the location of the opening, the length and width of the hole, the back step from the front edge and if the corners are square or radiused?
That way he is not dependent on the Ecabinet person creating the code.
While I'm in the begging mode has anyone got code to create a curved end to the end of a bar counter top. Hoping to put in the width of the top and how far out the arc needs to be like 4 inches 100mm for example. This arc overhang will vary from job to job.

It takes a basic understanding of Autocad or other CAD software to be able to write your own Code. But the machine operator programmer manuel has the basic instructions
If you get to working with DXF files, I will be glad to assist you with any questions that you may have when reviewing the DXF section of the manual and with setting up the layer names. Just email supporting files to program@thermwood.com.
We can also use dxf but we use artcam to produce those but they are done in the main office. We do have a masons mitre program that Doug Gilford gave with the machine. This is the basic question answer routine that cuts the top according to the answer. I guess you guys are going to say by the time you answer all the questions you could have drawn a dxf and sent it down. I was trying to have it so the average non computer guy can feel like he is answering questions from his wife. Yes sir no sir. Thus keep the skilled ecabinets come autocad guy away from the mundane things.
If no one does G code type of thing for sink cuts I will relook at having a copy of a DXF creator on the Thermwood Controller if thats OK to do Ryan?

In any case, Thermwood does not recommend installing any additional software on the controller itself. The computer system has been designed specifically for controlling the machine tool and storing part program files. If you do utilize additional software near the control, it is advised to have a stand alone PC that is networked.
