Profiled edges after edge banding.

Hi from OZ again.
I have just created a simple cabinet 2ends,top,bottom. flush back, 1 adj shelf.
all 18mm melamine all but joints, + 1, 19mm veneered slab door. After
i set all the edge banding (just 1 edge on each piece apart from the adj shelf which is edged all round) i then return to the
cabinet editor and a warning pops up ( the right end has a profile edge and the edge
banding will be removed. OK. ) I get this warning for each piece apart from the adj shelf until i have no edge banding.
None of the parts have profiled edges so why does this happen. I have had this problem for a while now but all the cabinets i have
been working on have had a rebate along the back edge of the ends for the back panel so i just thought you couldnt put edging on
a panel that had a profiled edge, ie the rebate. But surly you should be able to edgeband the front edge of a rebated panel.

Try sending just the cabinet file and I will see if it will open.

Its only a small file because all it is is a top, bottom, LH , RH ends 1 adj shelf a back (all 18mm beech melamine)
+ 1 19mm beech veneer slab door. Plain and simple no profiles or rebates. thats why i cant understand
why i have this problem. Its only recently started happening.

You can find the .hsf file (cabinet file) in the ecabinet systems/cabinets directory. Zip it and post it here if you can.

Most cabinet files alone will be at least 700KB

If you right click, then remove all part editor cuts from entire cabinet, then you should be able to edgeband all the front edges without a problem.
I don't know what's causing the error to appear in the first place though.

Thanks josh, I have already tried that. although there were no part editor cuts to start with
I went through that process to see if that was the problem but had no change.

Sorry Josh. I erased the part editor cuts on each piece by moving them to the part editor one by one. That didnt work.
I have now done what you actually told me by right clicking and removing all part editor cuts from entire cabinet and
hay presto it worked. thanks again.
Maybe I created this simple cabinet from one in my library which had the top, bottom and ends joined with mitres
and just removed these in the part editor. maybe thats how the problem started.

Double click on your cabinet to select it then right click and use the Remove Part Editor Cuts/From Entire Cabinet as Josh suggests and that does fix the problem.

I have noticed that removing the profiles one by one in the part editor is not working properly. The profiles stay with the cabinet. That is probably what happened to yours.

Sorry kerry posted just before you. yes you and Josh were right, ive done what you both
suggested and its fine now. Thanks to you both once again. (see my preveouse post as to why i think
it happened.
