pointer question/ problem

pointer question/ problem
just got a dell laptop with vista. everything is working great except my pointer on e-cab and my cad-cam programs. the so called hopt spot should be at the tip of the pointer, but mine is the bottom left of the pointer. if tried adjusting my mouse and pointer with no progress. every other programs work right. just these 2 programs. any suggestion with this? thanks, Darren
