Can't add desired drawer box to cabinet

Post by Donald Thomson »

I am trying to add the attached drawer box to the attached cabinet. I go into the Drawer box editor and click the Drawer Box Selection button. I then select the attached drawer box and Set as Default. Then I Add Drawer Box and the dbx I set to default is not being used in the cabinet. The dbx I'm trying to set as default should have Rafix holes along with some other holes for drawer face mounting in it.

Any ideas why the default I'm trying to add is not taking?

Don,

This drawer box is missing its KD/RTA pattern. If you load it directly into the Dbx designer, then regen, it will no longer show the cuts. Just like I mentioned to Josh Rayburn, there was an old issue that caused these patterns to be lost that is fixed in Build 8. You will need to reset the pattern on this box and re-save it. You will want to verify this with any saved Dbx that you use KD patterns on (regenerating it and re-saving). Then, if you should happen to have it happen again, we would want to know about it and any steps to make it happen.

That is interesting Scott.

I use this exact same dbx file for all my cabinet drawer boxes and when I set it as default in the Drawer/Door Editor it works fine.

You said that the KD/RTA patterns are not present in the file I uploaded. They are present when I use that exact same file on my local eCabs installation. Does something happen, when you upload files to the forum, that patterns or PE operations are removed or not included? If that is the case, how can I upload files where everything is present so we are working from the same information?

Don,

I think that what Scott is saying is that if you open the drawer box in the drawer box Designer it looks like the kd pattern is present.

but if you click on construction Settings then OK to exit Construction Settings without changing anything, the drawer will regenerate and you will see that the pattern is no longer there.

Don,

As Kerry explained in his post, I would like for you to load this box into the Dbx Designer and then go to con-settings, then select OK. You should see the KD cuts disappear after the regen. Please let me know if that is the case. Now, the box already in the cabinet is OK and has the patterns with it but the default box saved internally with the cabinet no longer has the pattern. So, if you were to add another drawer front with a box, it would not have the KD cuts in it. If you have any questions on this, feel free to call me.

A new problem just emerged when I tried to open the drawer box file. I get a a dialog box saying "Unable to open ECabinets file date." THen another dialog saying "There was a problem reading the HSF"

Scott is there anyway this file can be repaired? I've attached it.

Don,

It loads fine for me. Close eCabSys and reboot your PC and see if it works for you.
