How to make two panel doors

Post by Jeff Christenson »

Is there a way to make two and four panel doors? Customers are wanting the mission doors with the center stile, two panel design. It would be nice to be able to show them how they look. Here is a photo of what they want.

Thank you!

I found a way to do it, kind of. When you are in the door/drawer editor, choose to load a double door but set the door gap to negative 2/3-8". I have me stiles set at 2 3/8". The doors overlap each other but when rendered looks pretty good. You have to remember it will add an extra stile to the cut list though, so its more for show than anything.

Another possibility is to add a display board and position it on the door or doors. After the stiles or rails are in place, you would need to associate it to the cabinet to save it. The component would be added to your cut list, so it should be accurate, though the length may off. Your doors sizes and cut lists should be accurate in this case.

Your method offers an advantage that the doors could resize with the cabinet size, but then as you indicated your cut list is inaccurate for the doors.

Any possibility in having this type of door available natively like the others doors types? Maybe have the option to add a mid stile in the door options?

I have many customers interested in these for pantries and other large storage cabinets and it would be nice to have it for them to see without having to jump through a bunch of hoops.

Thanks!
